Betsy's Potato Chips
RECIPE THANKS TO REE DRUMMOND
Level: Advanced
Total: 30 min
Active: 30 minutes
Yield: 10 to 12 servings

Active ingredients

2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, peeled or unpeeled
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon freshly broke black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Grease, for deep frying

Directions

Unique devices: a mandoline or other vegetable slicer; a deep-fry thermometer

Use a mandoline or other veggie slicer to slice the potatoes as thinly as possible. As you slice them, submerge them in a bowl of cold water; reserved.

Mix the sea salt, pepper, celery salt, dill and paprika in a small bowl.

Heat 3 inches of grease in a heavy Dutch oven to 375 degrees F (use a thermometer to inspect the temperature level throughout). Lay the potatoes on a sheet lined with paper towels or kitchen area towels and blot them with more towels to dry entirely.

Lower batches of potato slices into the oil using a spatula. They will fry really rapidly, in about 1 1/2 minutes; eliminate with the spatula onto a sheet lined with paper towels when they are golden and crisp. Immediately spray on the spice mix and toss. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, making certain the oil comes back to 375 degrees F between batches.

  1. I love my crock pot. I wish I could find more easy recipes. Dump and go with not a lot of ingredients for busy days.

    1. Well first of all she doesn’t claim to put on a vegan , gluten free channel ! But secondly, you obviously don’t watch her and you could have just said that. Instead of making up things to whine about. I don’t understand why you would.

  2. “Vegetable” oil (which is really soybean or canola) is really bad for you!! The point of homemade is to cut that crap out.

  3. Better than those shrinkflated insulting packages of walkers crisps that are vacuumed air and bare handful of flimsy crisps for an extortionate price.

  4. Amazing the potato chips that you make! Like a lot how you prepare it. See you🦇
