Try these winter-special tender pigeon peas prepared in ghee and spices. There is something about simpleness that makes it so remarkable.

GHEE WALA TOOVAR DANA

Components

1/4 cup ghee
2 1/2 cups fresh pigeon peas (toovar dana).
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Salt to taste.
2-3 tablespoons chopped green garlic bulbs.
1 1/2 tsps green chilli paste.
2 cups chopped green garlic stalks.
1/2 tsp garam masala powder.

Method.

1. Put the fresh pigeon peas in a pressure cooker. Include turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups water and blend well. Place it on medium heat and cook till 4 whistles are launched.
2. Open the cooker once the pressure has decreased completely.
3. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Include sliced green garlic and blend well. Prepare till golden brown.
4. Include green chilli paste, blend and cook for 1 minute. Add the prepared pigeon peas and mix well.
5. Include the green garlic stalks, garam masala powder and mix well. Prepare for 2-3 minutes.
6. Serve hot.
