Fill a big pot with water and bring
to a boil. Season the water with 1 tablespoon of salt, if desired. Immerse crab legs into the boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes. Preheat your oven on the broiler setting. Location crab legs on a baking sheet. Brush legs with melted butter or olive oil, if wanted. Place tray 6 to 8 inches beneath the broiler and broil 3 to 4 minutes per side, turning midway through. Serve hot with melted butter, Old Bay flavoring, and lemon wedges for squeezing over meat. we dont really eat snow crab in maryland. we eat blue crab. with that being said, we also put old bay on everything from eggs to pizza to beer can tops.

Most crab you buy in store is already cooked- all good reheating methods though! Yum!
All crab legs you buy are cooked. They don’t freeze it until it’s cooked because it spoils too fast.
We don’t get soft shell crab around here. I’d love to try fresh!
