Lahori Fish Fry Recipe By Food Fusion

Ingredients:
– Machli (Fish) fillets salted & washed 750 gms
– Maida (All-purpose flour) 1 Cup
– Lehsan (Garlic) cloves 5
– Pani (Water) 1/2 Cup
– Lemon juice 1/4 Cup
– Zeera (Cumin seeds) crushed 1 tbs
– Ajwain (Carom seeds) 1 tsp
– Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
– Lal mirch (Red chili) crushed 1 tbs
– Dhania (Coriander seeds) crushed 1 & 1/2 tbs
– Namak (Salt) 1 tbs or to taste
– Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) 1 & 1/2 tbs or to taste
– Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) 1/2 tsp
– Baisan (Gram flour) sifted 1 Cup
– Pani (Water) if needed
– Oil for frying

Instructions:
– On fish pieces, include sifted versatile flour & reserve for 15 minutes.
– In mixer, add garlic, water and mix well.
– In bowl, add lemon juice, garlic water, cumin seeds, carom seeds, garam masala powder, red chili crushed, coriander seeds, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
– Add gram flour and mix well.
– Include water if required and blend well to form a thick batter.
– Include fish fillets and coat well, cover and marinate for 3 hours.
– In wok, heat oil and fry fish until golden brown.

Dish in Urdu:

Ajza:

– Namak (Salt) 1 tbs or to taste
– Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) 1 & 1/2 tbs or to taste
– Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) 1/2 tsp
– Baisan (Gram flour) sifted 1 Cup
– Pani (Water) if needed
– Oil for frying

Directions:
-Machli ka pieces per maida sort ker ka dal dein & 15 minutes kliya side per rakh dein.
-Mixer mein lehsan aur pani dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Bowl mein lemon juice, garlic water, zeera, ajwain, garam masala powder, lal mirch crushed, dhania, namak, lal mirch powder aur haldee dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Baisan shamil karein aur ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Agar zaroorat ho tou pani dal dein aur pains tarhan mix ker ka thick batter tayyar ker lein.
-Machli ka fillets dal ker ache tarhan coat karein aur dhak ker 3 hours kliya marinate ker lein.
-Karhai mein oil garam karein aur fish ko golden brown fry ker lein.

    1. No farah. I actually used basa fish. Its fillets are not thick so i fried on medium high. By the time the coating gets crispy, the meat is cooked as well.
