The long-term health of vegetarians and vegans.
There has been extensive research into the nutritional adequacy of vegetarian diets, but less is known about the long-term health of vegetarians and vegans. We summaries the main findings from large cross-sectional and prospective cohort studies in western countries with a high proportion of vegetarian participants. Vegetarians have a lower prevalence of overweight and obesity and a lower risk of IHD compared with non-vegetarians from a similar background, whereas the data are equivocal for stroke. For cancer, there is some evidence that the risk for all cancer sites combined is slightly lower in vegetarians than in non-vegetarians, but findings for individual cancer sites are inconclusive. Vegetarians have also been found to have lower risks for diabetes, diverticular disease and eye cataract. Overall mortality is similar for vegetarians and comparable non-vegetarians, but vegetarian groups compare favorably with the general population. The long-term health of vegetarians appears to be generally good, and for some diseases and medical conditions it may be better than that of comparable omnivores.

I love your lamb lovely lamb. I love it how you dress it up.
My favourite leg recipe is the one you made in Scotland, marinating in buttermilk in a plastic bag. I’ve made it at least 10 times. However, you convinced me that shoulder is actually better than leg and I’ve made the simple shoulder recipe (olive oil, rosemary and garlic) covered in the oven for 4 hours. I made that for 70 Italian guests and they said it was the best meal they ever had. I’m 83 years old in the meantime, but still cook every day and use many of your recipes. I have never seen another recipe for milk chicken, but it is one of my favourites. Easter greetings to you and your family from the centre of Germany.
