  1. Great video, interesting to see the cultural heritage in the food. A bit short though.

  2. Was eating there 2 days ago, so good. Delighted to see it making itself known

  3. The title is misleading. I wouldn’t consider the foods here are all Balinese food, Indonesian food in general, yes. Balinese food has very distinct flavors as every others Indonesian’s foods. Balinese food is known for using mixtures of many spices and aromatics called ‘basa genep’ and ‘basa gede’ to seasoned and give taste to the food. We also have some food that only requires very little ingredients, such as ‘suna cekuh’ , ‘sere tabia’ although it’s not as complex as the spices in ‘basa genep’ and ‘basa gede’ the flavors are still in my opinion authentic Balinese. Also since Bali is predominantly Hindus, here also known for using pork as a source of protein options.

    1. Bli, in the tittle is stated: The taste of Indonesia (in which the restaurant happen to be located in Bali).
You are absolutely correct though about the “base genep” and “base gede” in Authentic Balinese food

    2. @ArekSuroboyo1 True, but in the title also says Bali’s Authentic Flavors. So IMO kinda misleading a bit.

    3. @ArekSuroboyo1 with title like that it should talk about Balinese cuisine which is “a taste of Indonesia”. Welp, even the restaurant owner said Tempe Balado is a Balinese style lol, the only one that have semblance of Balinese cuisine was what I think is urap

    4. @se7en5es I get what you meant, the title was not put together clearly. Tapi ya, kita sebenarnya mengerti sih apa maksudnya.

    5. @jingisukhan7988 tempe balado Balinese style because they cooked them using base genep spices (bumbu Bali). Even indofood and other instant seasonings like bamboe and munik makes belado bumbu Bali

  4. Learning about how to take the best you have and turn it into to something great.

  5. Amazing food. I have been there a few times ❤️ really love the tempe 🎉 Best comfort food in Bali for sure

  6. when she said her mom’s love language is food, i felt that about my Indonesian mom too. she would not say things like ‘i love you’, but everytime i came over she would cook opor, rendang, basically my favorite dishes since i was a child.

    1. Apalagi kalau ngelihat di dapur masak sendiri 😢 ngelihatnya kaya kerasa capek banget, tapi masih bersemangat

    2. @pustakarileks7404 semenjak gw dibikinin mie ayam emak, mie ayam luar gak ada yang enak. udah hampir 1 tahun gak makan mie ayam.

  7. Thank you for highlighting this restaurant in Bali and also Indonesian food, but I can see why some people would say that the title is misleading. The restaurant owner has made it clear in the video that each region in Indonesia has its own unique cuisine, including Bali. The dishes in the restaurant come from all over Indonesia, so the title “Bali’s authentic flavors” is kind of misleading as foreigners who are not familiar with Indonesia might think that this is what Balinese food is all about. It’s like highlighting French cuisine and calling the episode “Europe’s authentic flavors”. It’s not wrong, just misleading.

    1. Totally agree, although it’d be more like showcasing (Western) European cuisine and then calling the episode ‘France’s authentic flavors’, or showing Italian cuisine and then calling it ‘Sicily’s authentic flavors’…

    2. Yep agree but I believe this is a deep rooted misconception that is currently been happening especially in Western countries. Once I went to a stationery store in Brisbane and saw they sold this plug adapter and written in its packaging is: Europe, US, and Bali. Bali.. not Indonesia. Granted, this is for marketing purpose and people know Bali better than they knew Indonesia. Heck, even I went to the bank and once the rep tried to sell me this travel card for, you guess it, Bali.

    3. Totally agree!!! The owner is from Jakarta, she’s not Balinese. If you want real Balinese food, go to Tresna Bali Cooking School.

    4. @BaliCookingschool Or visit a Babi Guling, Ayam Betutu or Sate Babi place, those are typical Balinese. Warung Local looks more like a typical warung that’s all around Indonesia.

    5. yes, i would prefer if the title is “indonesian authentic dishes” rather than balinese

  8. I love this video, I wish it were a bit longer ❤️❤️❤️ Love that she’s using her mum’s recipes 🥰

  9. Such a big variety of dishes available all over indonesia due to the different cultures from each island 🙂

  10. as Indonesian, it’s a jackpot everytime you mistakenly eating galangal instead of chicken meat

  11. yang begini baru benar,, memperkenalkan makanan tradisonal buat bule bule, perbanyak kedai begini dah, biar internasional tahu kalau indonesia banyak ragam makanan.

  12. she’s very eloquent talker, she represents indonesian hospitality really well

  13. love how very well spoken she is! you can feel that she genuinely loves and builds up her dream through warung local.

  14. She speaks not just represent Bali, but also Indonesia. Very well spoken and i can see that she is really proud that she works with locals and can compete with other restaurant that owned by non Indonesian.
