  3. not a traditional toad in the hole but greatness obviously.
I’ve been eating veg. 4 days a week lately and am having better cuts of meat on the weekends because of it.
interesting how some of what society considers as bad; like higher food prices, can have a positive more healthy result for certain people…and don’t forget the “peardraxx”.(if you can get it)
    cheers james.

  5. You’d think this is cheaper that doing a sausage version because hey, cost of living. But no. Those mushrooms come in a pack of 2 for over a quid, so for 4 you’re looking at like 2.20. You can get a pack of sausages for less or similar price.

  7. Jamie, I hope you see this. You’ve inspired me to eat less meat myself. I used to be vegetarian, then vegan, then back to “normal” since that time. You make it tangible by saying you eat meat free 2-3 times per week. In fact, we don’t need to eat meat all the time. Ive known about your persona for years but your channel is where you really shine, Jamie. I’ve learned so much about cooking in a short time of being subscribed. Also, i really enjoy the shorter videos like the 4-5 minute ones because I have ADHD. But when I task myself to watch a longer video of yours, I’m able to enjoy it still. thanks for teaching us so much and encouraging healthy eating habits!

  8. That was so sweet watching the two of you spending time over a meal. I always cooked with onions, if the kids didn’t want to eat them they picked them out. That gravy looked so delicious.

  9. I’ve used a portobello roasted as a meatless meat sandwich filler. When roasting the caps I put some butter and seasoning chili flake and or steak spice. Maybe even grated cheese. You’re gravy is a game changer .

  10. A night a day difference to your old toad in the hole from a few years ago.
I still prefer the orriginal one, the batter and super high heat makes a more superior yourkshire pudd.

  11. As a lifelong vegetarian and enthusiastic cook, I love how Jamie makes no nonsense, delicious, easily approachable recipes that are good entrances into the meatless lifestyle and make no excuses for flavor or tradition. This is what great cooking is all about!

  12. This looks amazing.
..I think it’s funny that even though people want to cook vegetarian food it has to be “like” meat. Why? I don’t want vegetarian food to taste or feel like meat. Why can’t it just be like veggies…. 🙂
