He’s just so cool with everything he does. Has his own style and swagger. Well done Ramsay.
I just cooked it the same way and I have to say that was the best steak I’ve ever eaten in my life, medium-rare turned out perfect
I tried this today for my parents’ anniversary. I like the outcome of my steaks and my parents seem to be pleased that I learned to cook, and it was from this video! ^-^
I’ve used this video for my basic source and loved it, it was the most beautiful steak I’ve made to date. Now I’ve heard some say you want to use vegetable oil for high heat and not olive oil, but Mr. Ramsay clearly put emphasis on the olive oil that he used. also how did he keep the color of the butter such a magnificent yellow and not burn it?
I made this for dinner tonight, I wanted to try a different way to make steaks. It turned out soooo good! Made it with Gordon’s recipe for coleslaw and his oven baked sweet potato wedges. My husband was in heaven! Thanks Gordon! You’re the best!
I’ve never cooked a steak myself, but I planned to try it today. This makes it look much more simple than I thought. Some tips I knew, others not at all. Thanks!
That was like watching James Bond cook a steak
True!
My husband and I have tried cooking steak in a variety of ways as shown on YT, and so far this is the one that has consistently yielded the best results. Thanks for the tips, Mr. Ramsey.
Followed the Gordon Ramsey YouTube video for cooking the perfect steak and it came out amazing. My husband said it was as good as any top tier steak house. Considering I paid a fortune for the meat I wanted to be sure that I didn’t mess up so I was thrilled that this technique worked so well.
Just tried it out yesterday using filet mignon. Cooked the exact way GR cooked it: rare to medium rare. Turned out great! I’ll have to lengthen the cooking process to get it over to medium.
I followed his instructions for T-bone and it turned out great! no need for extra salt, or steak sauce, the taste was perfect and it was tender. I think taking the meat out of the fridge 20 minutes before made a difference.
To be honest this video was SO much more than what I expected. Very nice recipe, very nice chef, and very nice steak. Great job!
I’ve never been able to cook a good steak before this video. I just cooked a couple steaks exactly like he showed, and they were the best steaks I’ve ever cooked, and possibly ever eaten, in my life. I definitely recommend this.
These are the best instructions and I have used this recipe twice and my steaks are medium, flavorful and delicious.
I am 15, I made this dish. I am shocked of how delicious it tastes. so proud of my self. Thank You Chef Ramsay!
Just tried this for the first time, and it worked. Tasted amazing! Thanks Gordon!
This worked for me. Simple salt and pepper seasoning, seared each side on high for 30 seconds, then the sides for another 30, lower to medium heat and add butter and garlic powder and cook every side for one minute before flipping. All while making sure you keep pouring the butter and garlic powder over the steak as it cooks with a spoon. About 6 flips makes a good medium rare steak. 8-10 makes well done. So fast and easy, making this for my girl on Valentines day!
+Tex Mex best advice I have seen for cooking a steak.
UPDATE: Steaks came out amazing. Looked like a pro chef to my girlfriend, and made for a fantastic first Valentine’s dinner with her. 😉
*Throws the piece of steak in his mouth*

I tried this myself last night and the steak was immaculate! I see why he is as far as he is in his career.
