Me watching at 3 am, knowing that I have to work tomorrow :
Sleep can wait..
0:49 the way he made it dance 😂😂😂
Looks like my ex wife
Poor chicken 🙁
@jmb1666 he used every single part
THICC
dude, I laughed for 5 minutes, I wasn’t expecting 😂
Chef Kono always slays!
Wow! I never knew Yakitori had so many different parts of the chicken.
His knife skills are so insane, the way he carved that whole chicken in single strokes, it was so smooth you could barely tell there were joints
He does. And also a really good and sharp knife helps immensely
Yes! It’s amazing to see knife skills in motion. A chef friend of mine said the best sushi chefs are precise and consistent with their cuts and don’t waste the fish. Seems like it’s the same with yakitori chefs too.
The way he broke down the shoulder + breast with the bolster of the knife 🤌 I wish they would release an extended/uncut version of just him butchering the chicken, hell I’d even pay for it. Western chicken butchery feels like kindergarten compared to this man’s poultry PhD.
i could tell
It is great to see him work similarly with chicken as a sushi chef would with their protein. Single strokes in one direction is to preserve the integrity of the meat, also hence Japanese knives being single bevel 🙂
This guy has some of the best knife skills I’ve ever seen fr
I have searched and watched yakitori videos for a long time. This is the third time I watch videos by chef Kono. This is by far the best and most detailed video about how to make yakitori.
Great job Munchies
Definitely look at Yakitoriguy if you want super indepth guides too. Each are like 30 minutes – 1 hour guides on each skewering each part!
The way he broke that chicken down made it seem easy.
Though it’s done by a different channel, I’m so excited for Chef Kono to finally give the full tutorial on how to prep the chicken. Thank you for whoever made the video.
Where can I find this?
… to finally give* …
Those knife skills are crazy
I can never get over Japanese craftsmanship..all this from a chicken😂😂 amazing
The pull knife skills are SICK AS HELL that’s practice and perfection over time wow damn
Most expert chicken disassembly I’ve ever seen
unbelievable skill level here – with hardly any waste at all….I’m in awe
He elevates yakitori to an artform
I love yakitori! In Japan, my buddy and I will go to a yakitori restaurant/bar buffet and we’ll drink and have a lot of skewered dish of all flavor. We’ll order our food, drink while we wait, eat, talk, and repeat. The best part is the end bill is less than $50 for all of us.
Wow! Incredible skills. Creating beautiful food out of the whole chicken. Huge respect Chef!
This chef’s level of skill is off the chart. I’m a chef, and I’ve never seen anything like it. Amazing.
you’re clearly a very bad chef then
@saber2008 LOL. I’m honest enough to admit to myself that I’ve seen someone with superior skills to my own.
@SeditiousSid I think you missed the point. I’m a chef and I have seen something like it.
This is how I’m going to cut my Costco rotisserie chicken. I love this guy.
I came here thinking it was gonna be about how to use the grill, and got schooled on chicken butchery. That is some crazy precise knife skills.
