This is the only time in my life I would want to try oysters.
Some friends peer pressured me into eating some recently, having hated them all my life I was surprised that I actually kind of enjoyed them. I must be getting old
God I love oysters. I totally get why it’s not for everyone. Are you in favor of mussels?
Try them out charbroiled and fried are my preferred but raw oysters are also delicious!
Goes to show that the best dishes in the world are made by throwing together whatever you got in your kitchen.
Aka soul food.
Basically where we get nachos and Caeser salad from, panicked improvisations during an unexpected rush
Yes but one has to have the imagination to utilise everything
Cobb salad was invented the same way. Whatever came to hand after closing time. Wasn’t Waldorf Salad also invented like that?
butter chicken originated this was too, leftover tandoori chicken pieces were mixed by a chef in curry to serve as butter chicken
I don’t like raw oysters, but fried oysters are one of the best foods ever made.
Chef probably scrapped a fair bit as a kid I’m guessing.
Skip the background music Vice
Semi-related but you can’t even dine at a restaurant nowadays without music blaring at 1000 dB.
That’s 1970″S porn music
the fiddle cowboy-y music is horrendous
I never realized samphire (which I’ve mostly only seen mentioned in literature) were the same as sea beans (in the US). This spice bag looks delicious 🤤 🦪 🍟 🌶️
I think we call it sea asparagus in Canada.
Julienning with a serrated blade. Hell yes.
The ubiquitous pastry knife … you sir know nothing of real kitchen
There was a place where I used to live did the most beautiful fried oysters. It was in the rough part of town but everybody went there, rich and poor alike. Unfortunately it also turned out to be a hub for stolen goods and cocaine, so it got shut down. It was a very sad day, but if they were still around a spice bag with fried oysters is exactly the sort of thing they would be doing. So… still quite sad.
Benjamin Disraeli described as assistant to PM is hilarious considering he went on to be PM of both the UK and Canada.
Nah, he knows Benny D was the British pm, he’s just using hibernian english
Disraeli wasn’t too fond of the Irish over a spat with O’Connell. I didnt know this until last week.
He definitly splitted the G on point in that last shot 🍻
Yup the hunter fella
Yessss chef 🧑🍳 best in the business!!
Now there’s a chef he knows his stuff!!
The irish cobb salad

Music’s not loud enough I can still hear him talk
