  1. Considering that they get the ingredients wholesale, if u tried to replicate that at home, it’ll prolly cost $3-4 for u. It would be financially irresponsible to not eat their burger lol

    1. I think it would cost about the same considering you will be able to make many more for the ingredients you get.

    2. But please go ahead and give them the business, they seem very cool 🙂

    3. You should do copywriting if you don’t already 👍🏼Genius marketing.

  2. The burger gets the customers in the door. Break even on that and profit from everything else in a sale. It’s all about upselling. Most people aren’t getting just a burger. Some people are getting 2, getting a side, getting a drink.

    1. Every person I work with in construction doesn’t care about good food. They just eat whatever is cheapest because they spend all their money on drugs.

    2. @Dealerplates420yea bc they’re down to earth people not snobby food critics

  3. Basically a small business version of the Costco hot dog deal. It’s not there to make a bunch of money, it’s there to create customer loyalty and bring ppl in the doors. Brilliant idea.

    1. The best part for local businesses is that there’s no corporate taking more off the top which can allow this to happen instead of being 355 and yhe extra dollar going to non store workers

    2. Costco uses the hot dog as a “ lure “; they make up for that with “ Bulk-Shopping “.

    3. @benjaminsturdevant6810a loss leader has to be sold at a loss. It’s in the name of

  4. Very smart business model. Costco does something similar with their rotiserie chicken; they sell it at a loss because it brings people into the store. Then when they’re in the store they’ll buy products with a greater profit margin(in this case fries or a drink).

    1. Plus the subscription model means people are paying for costco even if they don’t use it

    2. This really only works for Costco because they have other things to sell then just the chicken. For a small business restaurant like this this is actually a terrible idea

    3. @BurritooMafia”this is actually a terrible idea” does it look like it’s not working?

  5. I’m mixing garlic confit in my next batch of patties. Very cool idea

  6. 4oz patty, potato bun, super thin onions, burger sauce and pickles are probably the best ingredients for a burger. I mean it’s perfect and simple and easy to make at home. If you buy beef tallow too you can virtually make it last forever if you heat it, strain it and add a lil bit of fresh tallow. I’ve had the same waygu tallow for 2 years now and barely made a dent in it. Lotta diners do that with their grease or at least they used to. I guess since everyone switched to seed oils they stopped because those get nasty quick.

  7. More on the slider side but that’s probably a better price than most taco places in New York. When you consider total mass and satiety.

  8. I live in Turkey, most peoples salaries here is less than 600 usd per month and I’ve never came across any burger that costs less than 5$. You guys are saints for serving 2.55$ burgers in NYC

    1. @lungandfootStarts around 370 USD in the ghettos, if you wanna live somewhere decent it’s gonna be around 500USD or more. Keep in mind these are 2 for bedroom apartments. (Studio apartments are rare and usually cost more than 2 bedroom apartments because they are located in new developments.)

    2. @BrevityBuzzOkay, so for a lot of people, one month of rent = one month of salary?

  9. What most businesses today don’t get is that when everyone chases the “luxury brand” where you make whooping big margins off a couple of sales to the well-off, that means no one is serving the large masses that may give you narrower individual margins but a helluva lot more of them. And due to your prices being closer to their expectations and/or needs, you build loyalty and a competitive advantage.

In a world of playing to the white glove, the cheap populist is king.

  10. Youve unlocked custimer loyalty with a move like this. Your business will thrive if u keep doing this, boss. If i was local, id support and tip fat at least once a week

  11. Heartwarming knowing there’s still businesses out there who focus customer satisfaction over profit margin I hope you guys get everything you need out of life and more.
