HARE MOONG KI CHAASWALI KHICHDI

Active ingredients

1 1/2 cups whole green gram (sabut moong), soaked for 3-4 hours
2 1/2 cups buttermilk (chaas).
1 cup rice, soaked for 1/2 hour.
1 tsp ghee.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
4-5 cloves.
2 medium carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces.
4-6 medium cauliflower florets, cut into little florets.
3-4 green chillies, slit.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Salt to taste.

Approach.

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, include cumin seeds and cloves and sauté for a minute.
2. Add carrots, cauliflower, moong, green chillies, turmeric powder and rice. Mix well and include chaas and salt. Mix well, cover and cook till 2 whistles are provided.
3. Lower heat and cook for 5-10 minutes more.
4. Serve hot.
