Carla's Classic Pie Dough
RECIPE COURTESY OF CARLA HALL
Level: Intermediate
Overall: 1 hr (includes cooling time).
Active: 20 minutes.
Yield: Two 9-inch crusts.
Components.
1 tablespoon sugar.
1/2 teaspoon table salt.
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling.
1 cup (8 ounces) cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
Liquify the sugar and salt in 1/3 cup water and chill till cold.
Pulse the flour and butter in a stand mixer until the mixture looks like coarse meal with some pea-size pieces. Include the water all at once and blend till the dough almost forms a ball. Divide the dough in half and flatten into 2 disks.
Wrap each disk firmly in cling wrap and chill until firm, at least 30 minutes or approximately 3 days. You can freeze the dough for approximately 3 months. Defrost overnight in the fridge prior to rolling.

Whoa!
I am a Zookeeper in Atlanta and I regularly feed the Hippos day old Sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the Hippos they get so Mad at me and Scream but it’s an obsession sometimes the hippos try and Break out of their Cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in Wide Circles over their heads. Luckily my Boss doesn’t know I do this or my Coworkers haha 😆 😎
Alles sehr schön. Aber zuerst zusammen die Nummern 10 und 1. Eine empru.ONLINE Brünette und eine andereq Blondine. Es wäre unfair, wenn ich 4 wählen würde
Cant wait to try thanks for sharing blessings
Very nice
This looks like a lot of work. I’ll stick to buying it in the store.
Just must not have a very demanding job.
The flour fluffing is why I prefer following metrics when I bake 😁

I use to measure with a cup but now I weigh my dry ingredients and I haven’t had any issues since. I love watching Carla she always explains what shes doing and why. 🙂❤️
I just want to say that I miss seeing you on tv regularly and your other friends from The Chew!!!
How much water was used in the recipe? I didn’t see it listed.
1/3 cup, yeah it’s not in the list of ingredients but instead in the middle of the instructions, probably an oversight.
@Jaydoggy thank you
Nice 👍
I need more of you on food network and more expertise information. Sick of all these competitions of sabotage, I crave knowledge not struggle!
How much water?
Carla, you are a “teacher whisperer”. You make everything easy and doable. Don’t stop! 👍🏽🫶🏽
Your enthusiasm is your secret ingredient. It’s a joy to watch you every time, along with learning real practicals. Thank you!!
