Nonbu Kanji (Ingredients)

Seeraga samba rice – ½ cup
moong dal– ¼ cup
Oil – 1 tbl spoon
Ghee – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon stick – 1
Cardamom – 1
Cloves – 1
Bay leaf
Fenugreek – ½ teaspoon
Fennel seeds – ½ teaspoon
Shallots – 100 grams
Green chilli – 3
Garlic cloves – 7
Mint leaves
Coriander leaves
Tomato – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Mutton keema – 100 grams
Water – 6 cups
Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon
Salt
Hot water – 1 ½ cups
Coconut milk – 1 cup

    I have never heard of this kanji. Very interesting indeed.

    I am minimising carbs and in my diet, and not eating meat. So instead of rice and mutton kheema, can I use barley and chicken kheema?

    In any case I think there’s no harm in trying. 😁. Can also add mushrooms with chicken.

    Thank you for yet another lovely dish.

    BTW, I have been wanting to tell for a long time that your kitchen looks very nice.
