    3. Besides the sausage, onions, pepper, (get green it’s cheaper) and garlic are some of the cheapest ingredients. I used canned tomatoes personally, they keep longer in the pantry and are less than $1 if you get store brand. Just drain them first. Maybe if you get sausage money at some point you could try it with some substitutions. Ignore the white wine, that’s probably the priciest bit. You can use cheap cooking wine from the vinegar aisle of the grocery store or just try deglazing with broth/bouillon (Goya chx broth powder is *hella* cheap) and skipping it altogether. If you want that wine-ish taste, add a tiny bit of white vinegar with the broth.

  9. I might do the sausage thing like I do fajitas,Cook the meat first to get the flavor in the pan,remove,cook the veggies in the rendering and a little more oil if needed.Then I’d stir the rice a bit in the flavored oil,add the liquid and meat and then proceed like you did.

  10. Made the sausage rice dish and it was delicious. It was pretty good even with Impossible sausage too if you’re vegetarian. Still tasted really meaty. Although, I highly recommend to anyone — do not use 1tsp of paprika. That isn’t enough imo. Use 1-2tbsp and consider adding some heat with some chopped chilis or cayenne pepper. Also, black pepper because black pepper is good with most things. Also tried this with cilantro/coriander and it was really good if you like latin flavors.

    1. What the hell is ‘impossible’ sausage? -If it’s not pork from a dead pig; I want nothing to do with it.
