Ventura's historical and cultural community, known as the Opportunity, has Mexican dining establishments dotted all over the location. And on Taco Tuesday, it's time to see what's cooking. MUNCHIES Hosts Jeffrey Alan Belzer and Malachi Gallegos begin their day with some sunlight and surfing, before heading to taste a variety of Mexican specializeds.
First stop is Angie's Deli and Mexican Food, which is concealing in the back of a liquor store, where Jeff and Malachi sample al pastor breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, and their very first tacos of the day. Next, they head to El Jarocho, which brings its Veracruz style seafood specialties like Baja Fish Tacos and a gigantic seafood cocktail to Ventura After that, they head to Lalo's for a bunch of traditional tacos, as well as some off cuts, before covering the day out at Tepatitlan where birria, nachos, and mole burritos are on the menu.

A Mexican woman used to sell tacos out of her trunk where I worked. I ordered the same thing as my coworkers. They would smile because I didn’t know what was in what we ordered. To this day I still don’t know what it was. But it was damn good! That factory has been long since closed. Great bunch of people. ❤
