  1. Hi Jamie, homemade bread is soooo delicious,👌🏻 the smell is everywhere in the house, everybody wants to try it first!😉
I’m baking all my bread at home for more than 5 years, …it’s so beautiful, keep it up!
Sunny greetings from Germany, Ulli 🩷🪷🥖

  2. One thing that chefs never say but i think is very important for the learner, is that a 1kg dough ball is far easier to knead than say a 500 g ball. There is more to stretch and manipulate to start forming the gluten matrix that can hold the CO2 from the yeasties. And bread freezes super well. So if you are a one or two slice a day kinda person or family then the second can be saved

  3. Yum! My granddaughter and I will do this over the weekend. Joyous!

  4. “Joyful”. I just love when you say that in your videos. You exemplify joy when you teach us about food!

  5. I make bread some times , I roll it out and put mustered and fryed onion and greater cheese .roll it up and make it like a Christmas tree . Or sometime I just do a square for a party and put a bowe on it .👍👍👍

  6. A basic bread recipe uses like 4 ingredients. Water, flour salt yeast. Now go read the ingredients list on shop bought bread it’s crazy.

    1. It is scary yes. It’s hard to find an organic simple bread nowadays…

    2. I always add a tablespoon of sugar to start the yeast. I also add 4Tbs extra virgin olive oil, for flavour.

  7. I had gone off Jamie for quite a few years but gave this video a chance to see if he could make it back onto my shelf, well this time he has done it and made it simple and to the point (from a baker that bakes!)

  8. I’m a 74 year old woman living in rural, Western Kentucky USA. During covid bread was hard to come by, even if I did venture out. Eventually I ran out of yeast and there was none to beg, buy or borrow. I fell back on sourdough bread, which I’m not fond of. A YouTuber mentioned she used a fermentation starter instead of yeast and I thought now this I could do. I simplified her recipe and it’s now my favorite rustic bread ❤

    1. Dear lady.

Can you enrich us all with your recepie? I am sure we would be all delighted.
      Many thanks in advance .

    2. Fermentation Starters refer mainly to using something else that is already fermented as a starter for your bread.
Can use: Plain kafir, plain yogurt whey, some fresh cheeses.

So, similar to using a sourdough starter, but less of a sour kick.

    3. Cracks me up..especially since sourdough is a fermented starter…..I made a starter several years ago using yogurt w the flour. It worked ok… but I still personally prefer my own starter that I’ve had going for years now…..but do what you like best…..better than 99% of store bought breads
