Gordon and the staff really gave a lot for Chappy and his wife but ultimately, it was a complete total waste. They weren’t deserving of any of it.

@@acey457 Yup. Almost every restaurant on this show went out of business not long after. The point of the show was entertainment not selecting restaurants with a realistic chance of success.

I used to be a dishwasher in a chain restaurant and they taught us this in the online training BEFORE our first shift. I’m shocked that some people are legit this clueless :/
Worst part is, it wasn’t even going back to the old Crappy Chappy food that ended up taking down the restaurant, it was a complete and utter failure to pay their taxes to the state.

I remember this episode and I don’t believe I would have ever tasted anything in that restaurant.
I hate it when the meat tastes of fish. Usually, cooking in the same pan only happens in bad places that are cheap and have a very small kitchen…

Sorry folks but the health department should have shut him down long before Gordon got there. For the cooler to be that bad the Chef has to have given up. He doesnβt care and the staff know it so they donβt care.
Unfortunately some outstanding chefs are filthy. This guy has given up but there are definitely restaurants that you love that have unhygienic kitchens.
*Per Se has a Michelin Star and famously had 42 violations and got a C rating. Known for having some of the very best food in NYC. Easy to spend $400 on dinner for 1 there too.

The failure of these restaurants was not because of Ramsey. It was the owners. “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink” as the old saying goes. The fact that Chappy went back to his old ways and menu proves my point.
