Pickled Onion Focaccia | घर पर बनाएं स्वादिष्ट फ़ोकासिया ब्रेड | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A freshly-baked, pleasantly warm focaccia is the perfect breakfast alternative to the typical toast.

PICKLED ONION FOCACCIA

Active ingredients

1 cup vinegar
2 tsps castor sugar
Sea salt to taste
2-3 medium onions peeled
3-4 sprigs of fresh oregano
2 tsps active dry yeast
2 1/2 cups improved flour (maida).
1 1/2 tsp salt.
1/2 cup olive oil + for drizzling + for greasing + for serving.
Crushed black peppercorns for scattering.

Method.

1. Heat vinegar in a pan. Include 1 tsp castor sugar and sea salt and mix. Prepare on low heat till the sugar melts.
2. Change the heat off and permit to cool a little.
3. Cut the onion in half and vertically slice each half. Transfer this into an air-tight container.
4. Pluck the leaves of oregano and include into the jar. Put the vinegar mixture and blend well. Cover with a lid and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
5. To make the dough, take yeast in bowl, include the remaining castor sugar and 1/4 cup water and mix well.
6. Sort refined flour and salt in a large bowl, mix well and include activated yeast and mix till well combined. Slowly include 3/4 cup water and knead well, add in the 1/4 cup olive oil and continue to knead till a soft dough is formed.
7. Drizzle some olive oil, cover with the cling wrap and set aside for 20-25 minutes.
8. Knock back the dough and knead for 30 seconds.
9. Generously grease a 5-inch square tin with olive oil and place the prepared dough in it and spread uniformly, set aside for showing for thirty minutes.
10. Preheat the oven at 220 ° C.
11. Mix together the remaining olive oil and 1/4 cup water in bowl.
12. Make holes on the proven dough. And add the pickled onions. Drizzle the olive oil-water mix, spray some crushed black peppercorns.
13. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. Bring the tray out of the oven and permit the bread to cool a little, demold and cut into squares.
14. Organize on serving plate and serve with prepared pickled onions and olive oil.
