Active ingredients

1 medium bottle gourd
1 cup gram flour (besan).
2 tablespoons rice flour.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
Salt to taste.
1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain).
1 tsp ginger-garlic green chilli paste.
1 tbsp sliced fresh coriander leaves.
Oil for deep frying.
Green chutney to serve.

Approach.

1. Peel the bottle gourd and cut into thin roundels,.
2. In a bowl include gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste and ajwain, ginger-garlic green chilli paste, chopped coriander leaves, gradually include 3/4 cup water and mix till well integrated. Continue to blend for 3-4 minutes.
3. Heat enough oil in a kadai, dip the roundels in the batter and carefully slide into the hot oil. Deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent pepper.
4. Serve hot with green chutney.
