Now K-drama fans can also make a tasty Korean roast chicken with a spicy, appetizing and umami flavours of the Kimchi.


1/2 cup ready-made kimchi
1 entire chicken, skinned, and cleaned
4-5 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger, roughly sliced
1 spring onion, cut into 2 inch pieces
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Oil for drizzling
1/2 kimchi liquid
2 tablespoons honey
To serve


1. Carefully grind kimchi, garlic, ginger, and spring onion.
2. Vertically cut the whole chicken in half without cutting it through. And cut the wings,
3. Sprinkle salt on both sides of the chicken, add crushed black peppercorns. Transfer the chicken into a big bowl. Add the ground paste and rub it well on all the sides of the chicken. Set aside to marinade for 1 hour.
4. Preheat the oven at 200ºC.
5. Transfer the chicken on a cake rack placed over a shallow baking tray. Drizzle oil and location it in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
6. To make the glaze, blend kimchi liquid with honey in a bowl.
7. Eliminate chicken for oven and spray white sesames seeds and cut into pieces
8. For plating, include mashed potato, add roasted chicken, chopped spring onion greens, kimchi and garnish with micro greens.
