Phalgam, is a gem of a location, filled with fresh air. So, to appreciate the nature and unwind from the everyday hustle and bustle, I went on a walk in the woods. There, I was reminded me of the sacred, unique and less known, Kashmiri morels Gucchi, a treasure, which can be found here in Kashmir's wilderness. Its conical body, covered with pits and crumples like a honeycomb and naturally a stem, makes it look much like a mushroom. Unlike Truffle, Morels are not so popular, one reason being it can not be cultivated, it grows wild so individuals hunt for it which discusses why it is so expensive. I believed to myself, it's not in season, so I will not find one right now, but there is always a backup. I got my hands on the dried Gucchi at the ITC hotel and with it, I went down the memory lane. There is a lot that can be finished with it as it is so earthy and filled with flavours. Gucchi Pulav, wow paradise on earth, just like Kashmir.
