Active ingredients

1 ounce dried porcini mushrooms
3 tablespoons Miss Brown's Home Spices, recipe follows
Two 1 1/2- inch-thick bone-in rib eye steaks (3 to 4 pounds overall).
1 tablespoon soy sauce.
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar.
10 tablespoons saltless butter, plus more if required.
2 cloves garlic.
2 sprigs fresh rosemary.
2 to 4 big eggs.
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Miss Brown's Home Seasoning:.

1 tablespoon garlic powder.
1 tablespoon onion powder.
1 tablespoon paprika.
1 tablespoon kosher salt.
1 tablespoon freshly ground pepper.

Instructions.

Location the dried mushrooms and Home Flavoring in food processor and procedure until crushed (see Cook's Note). Transfer to a shallow dish.

Drizzle both sides of the steaks with the soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Dig up in the mushroom mixture, pushing to coat.

Location a cast-iron or heavy-bottomed frying pan over medium-high heat. Include 4 tablespoons of the butter, along with the garlic and rosemary. Once the butter has melted, include among the steaks.
Burn the steak, while basting with the butter, till browned on one side, about 6 minutes. (If the steak begins to brown too quickly, lower the heat.) Add more butter, if required. Turn the steak over and cook to desired doneness, about 3 more minutes for medium-rare. Get rid of from the frying pan and let rest. Repeat with 4 tablespoons butter and the staying steak.

While the steaks rest, melt the staying 2 tablespoons butter in a big skillet. Add the eggs and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Fry 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or cook to wanted doneness. Serve the eggs with the steaks.

Miss Brown's House Seasoning:.
Yield: 5 tablespoons.

Stir together the garlic and onion powders, paprika, salt and pepper in a little bowl. Shop in an airtight container.

Cook's Note.

Utilize a spice grinder to crush the dried mushrooms if your food processor isn't powerful enough.

Ma’am very nice, tip from a 59 yr old man from rural Ky., on cooking with cast iron, it is a poor conductor of heat( cool spots on pan bottom) but great retainer of heat & all we used & I started cooking at 9 yrs old, place that pan in a pre-heated oven at 450F for 20-25 minutes, double ovenproof mitt when removing to burner as will be screaming hot, no oil, butter, etc.. in pan when in oven, just dry pan, perfect for searing, frying, etc…

  5. Perfection! Well seasoned and nearly charred on the outside, and cooked well enough but not bloody while juicy. All you need is a Welch’s grape, and that’s word to Biggie!

  6. Don’t like a seasoning like that, especially that thick on a steak before cooking in a pan or skillet. It burns, leaving a nasty bitter taste. Unless you are doing it at a low heat then oven baking, I would never crust any protein.

    4 teaspoons kosher salt
    1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
    1 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper
    1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    ½ teaspoon garlic powder
