    1. “If the hog is conscious, … it takes a long time for him to bleed out. These hogs get up to the scalding tank, hit the water, and start kicking and screaming… There’s a rotating arm that pushes them under. No chance for them to get out. I am not sure if they burn to death before they drown, but it takes them a couple of minutes to stop thrashing.” -Eisnitz, Slaughterhouse – Go Vegan

  4. I have always used beef for goulash, but I’m going to try pork, it’s definitely cheaper at the moment.

  6. I made this recipe already in 2008 the first time and it is still my Most loved Gulash of all times. It is from my absolute favorite book of Jamie which is Jamie at Home. Next Weekend, I will Cook it again as every year in autumn!

    1. Book: Slaughterhouse. Author Gail interviewed workers/inspectors who had spent a combined total of three million hours on the kill floor. Without exception, they All admitted to engaging in or observing live animals being strangled, beaten, scalded, skinned, or dismembered, all while fully conscious. You can read more about the truth in Gail’s books: ‘Slaughterhouse’ and ‘Out of Sight’. Go Vegan.

    2. It’s not a gulyás, it has to do nothing with a gulyás at all😂

  7. Me and my wife made this when we moved into our first house in 2008. Haven’t even thought about this dish for years. Lovely blast from the past. Amazing dish
