Dahi Chana | दही चना | Quick Recipe | Easy Recipe | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

DAHI CHANA.

Ingredients.

1 1/2 cups yogurt (dahi).
1 cup chickpeas (kabuli chana), soaked overnight and boiled with salt.
1 1/2 tablespoons oil.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
1 medium onion, carefully sliced.
3 green chillies.
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste.
1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
1 1/2 tsps garam masala powder.
Salt to taste.
A fresh coriander sprig for garnishing.

Method.

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté for 1/2 minute. Add onion and sauté till it turns a light golden.
2. Approximately slice green chillies and include together with ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
3. Add chickpeas and toss. Add yogurt and mix well. Mash a little with a hand blender and blend well. Cook for 1 minute.
4. Add turmeric powder and garam masala powder and blend well. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook on medium heat for 10-12 minutes.
5. Transfer into a serving dish and serve hot garnished with coriander sprig.
