We all understand that Diwali is the perfect factor to invite family and friends over for treats. So why not make this joyful celebration much more special? Recreate this dish at home and add this crunchy pleasure to your Diwali celebrations! ✨.
BHAJANEE CHAKLI.
Ingredients.
500 grams bhajanee chakli flour.
1 tbsp white sesame seeds.
Salt to taste.
2-3 tbsps hot oil.
Oil for greasing + for deep frying.
Method.
1. Take bhajanee chakli flour in a large parat. Add white sesame seeds and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the hot oil and blend well. Add 1 1/4 cups water in batches and knead into a semi-soft dough.
2. Divide the dough into equivalent parts.
3. Grease a chakli press with some oil. Put a part of the dough inside the chakli press till it is 3/4 filled. Cover it with the cover.
4. Press out chaklis on to a plastic sheet.
5. Heat adequate oil in a kadai. Carefully slide in the chaklis a couple of at a time and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain pipes on an absorbent paper.
6. Enable the chaklis to cool entirely. Store in an air tight container and act as required.
