ALOO BHAJA

Components

7-8 medium potatoes, peeled
6 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Technique

1. Cut potatoes into thin strips and keep them soaked in water.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Eliminate potatoes from water and gently squeeze the additional water and put them in a bowl. Include salt and turmeric powder and mix.
3. Add the potatoes to the pan and shallow-fry, stirring to guarantee even cooking, till crisp and lightly browned.
4. Drain pipes and place on absorbent paper. Serve them hot in shot glasses.

  1. Beg to differ. We Bengali guys don’t make Aloo Bhaja this way. Chef, you cannot take out the Potatoes from water and put them directly in the hot oil. I’m sorry to say but that’s the reality. Another point is you should have mixed the Salt after frying and not before. 👍

  2. As a Bengali alu vaja is our favourite dish,my granddaughter wants it daily with bhat and daal

    1. Just a Suggestion – Daily may cause health issues to your grand daughter as it’s oily. Give 2 or 3 days in a week.
