I always thought that Gordon’s producers planted that rat, they seem genuinely offended
You see confidence? I see insecurity, if it makes you feel bad it’s because “they *made* me feel bad”, it’s classic I know you are but what am I projection, that self centered reaction where “they’re doing something that draws my attention” becomes “they’re doing it TO draw my attention”, like how when a bigot encounteres someone they don’t like it becomes a *them* problem for being noticable, shifting all the blame because the critique to their competency and having to actually own up and change is too much for them to handle.
It’s such a massive source of shame that it was pointed out, that it *must* have been done to personally make them feel shame right, any justification comes after the fact to explain why they feel bad, the safe answer is that they did everything right which must mean someone else did something wrong (conveniently removing any reason for introspection or taking accountability).
It’s the response of someone with no self confidence, “I meant to do everything right therefore anything wrong is not my fault!” belies massive insecurity, any critique gets dismissed because self reflection is too scary to handle, far far from what a confident person would do

True story: I say “chimi-chuck it in the bin” in my head every time I see chimichangas on a menu since this episode aired. Gordon Ramsay changes lives in more ways than he knows lol.
One of my favorite sayings when I’m cooking something that’s been frozen at home is “fresh frozen😂”

There’s a small chain called Javier’s and the small restaurant we go to is basically run by Latin middle aged women/grandmothers. My younger sister learned Spanish while in elementary school and up, so when they see her they just melt because she likes to talk to them. I’m so proud, and awkward cuz then I’m like “gracias!” And it’s all I can say!😂😅 They make the best damn Mexican food, just big plates of deliciousness.😋
Love him for calling out these owners and managers for caring about the dollars and not caring about people’s health andl well being, and most implortantlly, integrity. And some had the audacity to argue and defend? It’s Chef Ramsay… you shut up and listen, own up, apologize, and do what you have to do to make it right. Thank you, Chef Ramsay!
