Cheeseburger Sliders

Components

One 16-ounce bundle supper rolls
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 1/4 pounds ground sirloin
4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup mayo
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
One 8-ounce bag shredded Cheddar-jack cheese
1/2 cup dill pickle slices
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon everything bagel spices

Instructions

Pre-heat the broiler.

Eliminate the rolls from the packaging in one piece. With a serrated knife, cut crosswise through all the rolls simultaneously, to divide the top half from the bottom. Location both halves cut-side up on a sheet pan and broil for 2 minutes up until lightly toasted. Reserve.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, include the onion and cook till simply somewhat softened, about 3 minutes. Add the ground sirloin and cook, breaking it into little pieces with a wooden spoon. Increase the heat to medium high. Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, then stir well to integrate. Cook till the beef is no longer pink and the liquid from the frying pan has actually nearly totally vaporized, about 8 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.

In a little bowl, mix the mayo, catsup and mustard.

Spread out the cut sides of the rolls with the mayonnaise mix, then sprinkle with half of the cheese in an even layer. Layer the meat mixture over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese and the pickles. Leading with the other half of the rolls.

Thoroughly brush the tops of the rolls with the olive oil and sprinkle with the whatever bagel spices. Bake until the cheese is melty and the tops of the rolls are golden and toasted, 10 to 12 minutes. Pull the sliders apart and serve warm.

  2. Mmmmm but I would added the mayonnaise, ketchup etc at the end so it doesn’t get warm in the oven. I see why she didn’t it but the sauce wouldn’t be warm after it’s cooked.
