Moru Kali | Mor Koozh | साउथ इंडियन मोर कली रेसिपी | Buttermilk Rice Upma | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A South Indian lightly-spiced buttermilk porridge or tiffin recipe. It is cooked rice flour in flavoured buttermilk.

MORU KALI

Ingredients

4 cups buttermilk (moru).
1 cup rice flour.
Salt to taste.
2 tablespoons sesame oil.
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing).
1 tsp mustard seeds.
3 tsps split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal).
4-5 dried button red chillies.
10-15 curry leaves.

Approach.

1. Take rice flour in a bowl. Include 1 cup buttermilk and whisk well. Include another cup of buttermilk and continue to blend till a smooth mixture is formed. Include the remaining buttermilk and mix well. Add salt and mix till well integrated.
2. Heat sesame oil in a kadai. Include asafoetida and mustard seeds and let them splutter. Include split skinless black gram and cook till the gram turns golden brown. Include dried button red chillies and curry leaves and blend well.
3. Include the buttermilk mix, and continuously mix and cook till the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the kadai. Include staying oil and mix till well integrated.
4. Transfer into a serving plate and serve.

  3. My most favorite recipe….. My mom makes it too yummy…. Ungli chatthe hi rehjaate hai❤❤❤… So happy to see it making… Guys try it u gonna love it…. But don’t think about diet and calories coz it takes much oil for yumminess… Rather than seseme oil use sunflower or rice bran add green chillies along and hing as well
