LEFTOVER DAL APPE
Active ingredients
1 1/2 cups remaining dal
1/4 cup blanched and crushed green peas
1/4 cup grated carrots
1 cup semolina (suji).
2 green chillies, squashed.
Salt to taste.
2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves.
2-3 tbsps yogurt.
1/2 tsp baking soda.
Ghee as needed.
Coconut chutney to serve.
Approach.
1. Take leftover dal in a bowl. Add green peas, carrots, semolina, green chillies, salt, coriander, yogurt and 1 cup water and blend well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
2. Add baking soda and blend well.
3. Heat a paniyaram pan and drizzle ghee.
4. Put a spoonful of batter in each damage, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes.
5. Flip and cook for 5-6 minutes more.
6. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
