Generate the tingling twist to our regular aloo ki sabzi and make Khatte Meethe Aloo. Tamarind and jaggery add in that sweet and tangy flavour enjoyed by everyone, making it a needs to attempt recipe.
KHATTE MEETHE ALOO
Components
500 gms small potatoes, boiled and peeled
2 tsps tamarind paste
2 tsps grated jaggery
2 medium onions
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3-4 dried red chillies, cut in half
2 tsps ginger paste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp black salt
1 fresh coriander sprig
Method
1. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Finely chop onions.
2. Add cumin seeds, dried red chillies and onions to the hot oil and saute for 1 minute.
3. Include ginger paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder and saute for 1 minute more.
4. Include potatoes and blend well. Include 1/4 cup water and mix. Include salt, red chilli powder, black salt, tamarind paste and 1/4 cup water and mix.
5. Include jaggery and blend well. Prepare for 3-4 minutes or till the potatoes are well coated with the masala.
6. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
