  4. a trick at 3:34 if you’re afraid of burning yourself with the hot oil is get as close to the oil as possible to avoid a splash. It sounds weird. I used to fry chicken by hand at a place and would seriously get barely above my bare hand getting into hot oil. You can do this with a thick batter.

    To make it safer, do this trick like is done in restaurants. Put a spoon into the oil for a second to warm it up and slightly coat the spoon, scoop the batter out and use your thumb to slowly slide the batter into the hot oil with maybe the tip of the spoon slightly in but don’t let the spoon get too hot. The oil will prevent the batter from sticking.
