I donβt have 40 mins to wait for them to cook through lol peeling only takes like 1 extra min per potato
Agree. This seems like more work.
β@christinecoleman2964It’s not like you’ve gotta stand there twiddling your thumbs waiting for them to cook.
You could be preparing other dishes.
When you’re standing there peeling potatoes you can’t be doing anything else besides peeling potatoes.
This method is especially helpful if you’re cooking for a crowd.
Thx Nicole. β€ I’ve been doing it this way for years. β€
Cook 10 lbs. at once. Freeze them into individual portions. Put them in freezer bags once frozen. Then double bag them. You can take out a portion each time you need a serving or you can take out several of them at once to make family style, etc.

The easiest way for me to peel anything is get someone else to do π it.
ππyes
BUT THE ONLY ONE WHO REALLY COOKS THE FOOD FOR THE FAMILY…NICE THOUGHT.πππππππππ
A handy tip, I donβt mind peeling potatoes (:
I sharpen my peelers every now and then.I won’t peel a hot potato.
Genius!! Thank you Nicole!!! β€οΈ
On what scale of intelligence?
β@JesgateOnDown
On the scale of a working Mom who comes home harassed & needs a full dinner on the table while kids bellow they’re hungry. Simple is everything in that scenario … DUH!!
I’ll try this hack cause I cook mashed potatoes all the time. Love the guacamole hack from you folks – my guacamole still looked great the next day!
Dawn Wells (Maryann from Gilligan’s Island) has a video from 2008 using same technique. I’ve never tried myself.
β€ Thank you! You’re the best!
Thanks
I’m sold.
Gonna attempt this trick
Awesome tutorial
This is a great tip. I personally prefer the Yukon gold potatoes, and that skin is so thin I never peel it.
Just mash them with the peal still on. Potato skins are edible. π
I love adding (to 3lbs cooked & sliced Potatoes w/skins on) 2oz Cream Cheese, a dollop of Sour Cream & about a 1/2C Cottage Cheese + lots of garlic powder & butter. Plus S&P. My Mom threw this together one night & called them Cottage Mashed Potatoes. Yummy & very country looking.
Some people are fussy if things aren’t done a certain way, so frustrating

Yes, I know several, LOL – almost like I’m trying to light their hair on fire to mix it up. It’s so trying to deal with those who just can’t tolerate chg – while also being so freeing to me who embraces differences & sees creativity in a myriad of options. I have the tendency to just enjoy going in circles vs getting things done. π
Love your shirt! You are so cute!β€
I prefer to keep the skin on whether baked, fried, mashed, roasted, etc.
Years and years of doing it the hard way … where have u been all my life, Nicole!?! MAN! This one’s genius! π―π―
Heyy I tried this.. and it really works π thank you π
I always leave the peels on my Potatoes, I will generally use a thin skinned variety for mashed. The skin is where the nutrients are.
This is one of the reasons why I β€U
I love my Y peeler. Faster than waiting for whole potatoes to cook.
I hate peeling potatoes so this is a fantastic idea!
I wash them and peel them. Itβs so much easier when they are wet/damp to peel , then cook them how you want. simple.
