Gordon has such a television presence, I wish he could do a show on the sense of taste and aging. As I’ve gotten older I don’t really enjoy eating as much(one meal a day, and not going to restaurants any more). How could this be done? The tongue is sensitive to chemicals. So what would be a chemical that everyone reacts to the same? If you tasted this chemical while in a MRI and your brain reacted with a weaker signal, does this mean that your sense of taste got weaker? I can’t find any research on it. And yes, the sense of smell is connected with it, so you’d have to wear nose plugs to isolate taste results.
