Glazed Funnel Cakes
DISH COURTESY OF ALEX GUARNASCHELLI
Level: Intermediate
Total: 1 hr 20 min (includes resting time).
Active: 55 min.
Yield: 4 to 5 funnel cakes.
Active ingredients.
Batter:.
1/3 cup Irish cream alcohol, preferably Baileys.
2 large eggs.
1 cup entire milk.
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar.
1 tablespoon cocoa powder.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
1 teaspoon kosher salt.
4 cups canola oil.
Granulated sugar, for scattering.
Glaze:.
1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur, ideally Baileys.
1 cup confectioners' sugar.
Instructions.
Unique equipment: a deep-fry thermometer.
Make the batter: In a large bowl, blend together the Irish cream, eggs, milk and vanilla. Sort the flour, confectioners' sugar, cocoa and baking powder right over the damp active ingredients. Include the salt and blend to combine. Transfer the batter to a big resealable kitchen area bag or pastry bag. Refrigerate for a minimum of thirty minutes and up to 4 hours.
Make the glaze: In a little bowl, blend the Irish cream and confectioners' sugar together till smooth. Reserve till all set to serve.
Prepare yourself: On the other hand, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Pour the oil into a broad heavy-bottomed pot or pan. Heat the oil to 350 degrees F over medium heat. Fit a flat pan with a wire rack. Have a spider, fish spatula, or slotted spoon on hand.
Fry: Cut a small corner of the plastic bag or bottom of the pastry bag to develop a little opening. Put the batter from the bag into the hot oil, streaming about 5 overlapping rings of batter. Enable the batter to fry till it companies up and turns brown on the underside, 2 to 3 minutes. Use the spider to gently lift the cake out of the oil and turn it to the other side. Fry up until golden brown, an extra 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer the funnel cake to the wire rack. Sprinkle with some granulated sugar. Use up the remaining batter to fry more funnel cakes, enabling the oil to go back to 350 degrees F before each batch. You can hold the funnel cakes on the baking sheet in the oven while you make the remaining funnel cakes.
Serve: Organize the funnel cakes on plates, drizzling generously with the glaze.
Cook's Note.
This is the Irish "crème de la crème" of funnel cake. This is nearly like a dulce de leche fairground dessert/snack that is so fun and festive. The Irish cream functions as a subtle and velvety flavoring in both the batter and sauce. The alcohol in fact benefits that crisp element for the cake batter and the sauce ends up being the perfect sweet icing on the crispy funnel cake. The granulated sugar sprinkle creates a terrific sandy texture with the sauce on the cakes. Make the batter and fry prior to all set to consume so that they are devoured fresh and hot. This is the type of taste that becomes so sentimental and delicious for grownups …

I know this was Alex’s show, but that Sunny steals it every TIME for me !! Just LOOK at her super beautiful eyes at 3:23 . They are SO CLEAR and clean! Looking at Sunny is truly recreation for the Mind! LOL. Also, look at Alex as she approaches that oven at 5:07 !! Got-DAMN !! BBW in tha HOUSE! BOTH of those 2 are total killers in beauty! Please be not upset with these remarks. We, as adults should know what we like, and when we SEE it/find it, it triggers our reaction. And on YouTube, we call those reactions “Comments”! So, it’s good. Also, 1 more thing! That KILLER-KILLER beautiful smile and those lovely brown eyes and perfect teeth at 4:09 from Katie !!
What are you talking about
A funnel, like you use to add liquids to things.
Yeah, that’s a funnel 😶
This feels like a parody of a cooking show
