  1. Adding a splash of white vinegar to the water then cooking the eggs will help with removing the shell. Also, using a spoon will make removing the shell even better/faster! These tips really do work.

    1. Gee. Never thought about showing someone. LOL I’ll see what I can do about that tho! 😊

    2. the best way to cook is not to cook at all. why boil when you can eat them raw, with all the nutrient?

    3. @Neal Tran Because that can be downright dangerous. You run a higher risk of salmonella infection the softer the egg is.

  2. I prefer this method. And thank you for showing us how to cook three types of boiled egg dishes. There was another video that I watched that showed boiling the eggs on medium for 10 minutes. I thought that was rather extreme. I did the same thing and the yoke turned out green just like you said.

  3. after learning how to toast a slice of bread, I thought the next thing would be to learn how to boil an egg.

    1. I feel I perhaps should have looked up how to boil water properly first lmao

  4. I guess its okay if you want to boil 1 or 2 eggs.  However,  For me it all starts with Jumbo eggs,  you have to be all in.  So lets boil a doz. eggs at once.  On my stove and only my stove, since I have gas burners of various sizes,  I set the flame to not burn past the perimeter of the pot.  I set the timer for 19 mins. which allows for a 4 min. boil.  Then I let stand for 16 mins. without flame.  I have been known to pull the ice drawer from the ice maker and dump almost the whole drawer full of  ice on the pot of eggs.  Guess
what . . . easy peels and no gray/green  ring around yolk which is fluffy.  Great for deviled eggs too.  Plus I get to watch  N.C.I.S. as  well.

  5. Great video, it’s amazing the little things people are unaware of. Thanx for taking the time to help out

  6. They actually have this book (I think on Amazon) on how to boil the perfect egg and which egg and what time. You guys should go check it out!

  7. the simmer technique for me leaves too many imperfections. Chef taught me
-put eggs in pot; cover with cold water an inch over them. Make sure they are room temperature.
-put on high; bring to a boil; turn off heat and cover. 9 minutes for medium; 12 minutes for large, 15 minute wait for extra large sized eggs.

  8. To make a perfect boiled egg i would steam it 6 to 12 minutes (depending on doneness).
Steam permeates the shell and makes peeling supper easy.
And i would put eggs in ice water to temperature shock them after steaming.

  9. I guess I have been doing it wrong. I put my eggs in hot boiling water and kept them there for over an hour or until the water was completely evaporated and the bottom of the pan was crackling and smoky.

    1. @bax323 you’re like my wife’s family…all wrong! I can’t tell you the satisfaction I felt by showing them, in writing and video, the proper way to boil eggs.

    2. Or just put them in the fireplace with a hot roaring fire and leave them there a few days and then check to see if they are done.

  10. Thank you for the precise and clear instructions! My hard boiled eggs came out perfectly. Subscribed 👍🏼

  11. I can never maintain the water at a simmering temperature so I use the second method, but I actually wait for the water to boil, not simmer, and then take the pot out of the heat. Lately I’ve been steaming the eggs instead of boiling them, though

  12. Lovely girl, great advice! Just tried the 4min one and it was wonderful…
    Thanks!

  13. all I wanted was something simple and quick. this video did just that. thank you

  14. Put the eggs in cold water. On med high heat Bring it just to a slight boil. Take it off the burner immediately, put cover on pan and let it set for 10-15 minutes depending on if you want soft or hard boiled eggs. Then put the eggs in ice water for 15 min. Peel eggs. Perfect hard boiled eggs.
