i feel so bad for the server at the first Italian place, he’s genuinely doing his job really well but the food is so abysmal
You have to feel for most of them, really. They have to put up with all the issues of a bad chef or poor management while doing so gracefully. The amount of stress they’re under to perform well in order to earn their keep in tips while also having to be the messenger of those who shield themselves from the dining area is an absolutely dreadful minefield to navigate.
Then you find yourself serving the after church group and you want to jump off a bridge.
