    1. I really think it has to do with the way the salmon is prepared. I had sworn myself off on salmon until I was at this really swanky place. There was salmon on the salad bar and so many ladies with gorgeous jewelry on were gobbling it by the plates! I tried it again that day and oh my gosh, I loved it. I’m so glad he told us what to buy at the store to make this delicious looking yummy.

  4. Mr. Oliver has the ability, which all experts who are at the very zenith of their profession possess to make the complex and convoluted appear simplistic and effortless. Regrettably I am no chef nor cook, my abilities remain elsewhere, but I’ll do my best to provide those for whom I love a meal prepared with genuine feelings and emotions. Failing that it’s a Pot Noodle for Christmas dinner/lunch!

  5. We’ve been making this every Christmas season since we first saw Jamie do this. It is very very easy, folks. Anyone can do it and BTW, it works without alcohol if that is your preference.

  8. 6-7 years ago, I made a similar kind of gravlax for Christmas, but with – no joke! – a Gingerbread spice rub instead of the traditional Dill and Beets. Since then, “Gingerbread Lax” has become our traditional Christmas eve dinner.
