HARE MOONG KI CHAASWALI KHICHDI.

Active ingredients.

1 1/2 cups entire green gram (sabut moong), soaked for 3-4 hours.
2 1/2 cups buttermilk (chaas).
1 cup rice, soaked for 1/2 hour.
1 tsp ghee.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
4-5 cloves.
2 medium carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces.
4-6 medium cauliflower florets, cut into little florets.
3-4 green chillies, slit.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Salt to taste.

Approach.

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and cloves and sauté for a minute.
2. Add carrots, cauliflower, moong, green chillies, turmeric powder and rice. Mix well and add chaas and salt. Mix well, cover and cook till 2 whistles are offered.
3. Lower heat and cook for 5-10 minutes more.
4. Serve hot.

  2. Hara Moong ki Dal Kichdi, looking good n done well mixed with rice n Buttermilk in Pressure Cooker. It’s something exceptional, adding buttermilk with Kichdi, but It’s excellent to my imagination. Will try it out.
    P. S. We do take white rice mixed with thick buttermilk, with added salt n some pickle to go with it. Taking pickle is an option.
