Ribs prepared on a Propane Grill
WHAT MALCOM USED IN THIS DISH:
– Killer AP Seasoning
– Killer Hogs The BBQ Rub
– Killer Hogs Zero Sugar Barbeque Sauce
– Thermoworks Thermapen
Gas Grill Rib Dish
– 2 racks of loin back ribs – trimmed and silver skin got rid of
– 2-3 Tablespoons yellow mustard
– 1/4 cup Killer Hogs AP Seasoning
– 1/4 cup Killer Hogs The Barbeque Rub
For the wrap:
– 1/2 cup Killer Hogs No Sauce
– 1/4 cup Apple Juice
Directions:
1. Apply a thin line of mustard to each rack of ribs and season with the AP Seasoning and The BBQ Rub on all sides.
2. Fire up a gas grill adjusting the burners so the grill temperature level is 250-275 degrees. Make a smoke bomb by adding wood chips to a small pan, cover it with foil, and poke holes in the foil. Place the pan to one side of the grill centered over a burner.
3. Location the ribs on the grill and cook for one hour, flip the ribs over for even grilling and continue to cook for another hour.
4. Wrap the ribs in a double layer of aluminum foil – include a little additional dry rub, no sauce, and a splash of apple juice to the wrap.
5. Return the ribs to the grill and cook meat side down till the internal temperature level reaches a minimum of 202 degrees in between the bones. It should take about an hour.
6. Carefully take the ribs out of the wrap and location back on the cooking grate. Season with additional dry rub. Prepare for 30 additional minutes to set the bark at this point you can sauce the ribs for a "damp style" or serve them dry

I want to be friends with this guy
Lol right!!
I want to be his neighbor!
@sonofsaltme too🤣🤣👍🏻🏴
I want to be family!
@robl39 We all know you don’t have any friends anyways. So he would be your first and only one.
I haven’t seen a video in a while. It looks like you’ve lost a considerable amount of weight. Keep it up bro!
Awesome job on the grill smoked ribs Malcom. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
You are looking GOOD my man! Proof you can be a bbq master and still be healthy!!!!
Agreed!
Still alive, not sure how healthy.
Probably on Wegovy or Zepbound. That’s not a bad thing. Probably a huge improvement to his health. I bet his blood pressure and cholesterol are way down.
Healthy? He is clearly obese. He’s a great guy and all, but let’s not fool ourselves.
He’s getting there, I wouldn’t call it “proof of healthiness” yet.
Watching Malcolm has turned my bbq game completely around and my family and friends have noticed and are asking me to cook for them all the time. Thanks Malcolm for the page
That’s how I did my ribs before I had a smoker…still like that texture. It’s different than a smoked rib.
I think you’re smart doing this Malcom. There are a lot of your followers who are maybe newer to BBQ who only have a propane grill (I used to be one of them.) if they get the bug, they’ll eventually move on to charcoal or wood, but there are not many people with your pedigree on YT showing good gas grill content. 👍🏻
Dang! Malcom is looking healthy and awesome! I’ve been a fan and a follower since back in the early BBQ Pittmaster days! You’ve always been one of my favorites and I’ve fed a lot of people off of your great recipes! So glad to see you doing well!
How long have you been watching him
Only Malcolm Reed can get me to watch a video about cooking ribs on a propane grill. I’ll have to admit those ribs looked awesome!
finally a gas grill video on you tube , many of us do not own smokers or charcoal grills even , we just use our gas grill with a small smoke box inside .
I have a gas grill and my smoke box inside is a piece of foil I formed in a bowl 😂. It works though!
It’s a long time coming. I’ve made some good ribs on a gas grill just by searing it at high heat for color, then wrapping in butcher paper and cooking at 250F for a few hours. It turns out great, just as the video says, but you taste the meat more and don’t get a smoky note.
I don’t own a gas grill. However I have an offset pit and a couple Weber kettles. I honestly don’t know why anyone would buy a gas grill over a kettle grill that costs less and will do the same thing. Hell you can get a pellet grill/barbeque these days for about the same price as a typical gas grill. While I personally don’t own one I can’t imagine why anyone would buy a gas grill over a pellet grill considering both are fully automatic. However I can totally understand why most people don’t have a proper offset barbeque pit, not only are they expensive, and extremely labor intensive (try cooking a brisket for 16-18 hours on one) , but there is a steep learning curve. I’ll admit there are times when I was cooking on my offset or even cutting and splitting wood for it when I thought about going to get a pellet grill. However I still don’t have one because I’m lazy and if I bought one I’d probably never use my offset again.🤣
@Trump985 Ummm yea, I have a gas grill because I live on the 3rd floor and only have a deck to grill on and don’t feel like burning down the building. I guess there are reasons people buy gas grills that you are unable to understand.
@joshr9417 How would a pellet grill be any different than a gas grill in your situation? Hell I’d go as far to say a pellet grill would be less of a fire hazard than a gas grill.
Malcolm covers all the bases, even the hard to please propane grill…Lets get Malcolm and Company Over the Two Million Mark this Summer…He works hard for us!
I have learned so many tips from you over the years, now when I fire up my smoker and the neighbors stop over to see what’s on the smoker, then I make my rounds dropping off containers.
It’s serendipitous that the day you posted this, my wife brought home two racks of spare ribs for the new propane grill. I’ve never cooked ribs on a propane grill before, but here were the instructions laid out before me. The ribs have been on the grill for an hour and a half, and I’m just looking forward to trying them out! Thank you for not only the inspiration, but for breaking this down Barney style. Much appreciated!
Well? How did it turn out?
@pgrant7688 really good; I mean, a layman like me pulled some awesome ribs out of my rear with Malcolm’s help. 🍻
Straight BBQ school! I have all your seasonings. Nothing like learning from the best!
Love Malcom man, this guy comes off to me as very genuine and his videos are easy to watch and follow. Thank you!
“Close is good enough for me” haha words to live by
Malcom is the reason I gotten so good at smoking meat. I support him by buying his seasonings
AP is the truth
Same
Just made ribs for the first time and I followed this recipe. They turned out so good. Everyone said it was the best ribs they’ve ever had.
I’m making them for 4th of July today. fingers crossed.
@mollysvanstrom6848How’d they turn out?
@tyeshali3248 really good. I usually do them wrapped in foil in the oven. We all liked them but the oven method was better. I do enjoy learning new ways of preparing though.
@mollysvanstrom6848 how did they turn out?
I found your seasonings in Walmart about a year ago and I buy 2 AP’s and 1 rub each time I buy spices. My whole family fell in love with them too! We put that AP on EVERYTHING!!!!!! If they’re not in the cabinet, we will leave to the store in the middle of cooking. ❤
I followed this video when making ribs for my father in laws memorial.
This technique had everyone pleased because ribs were his favorite and have never been topped when he grilled em up . Thanks to you I got close 🤝
