  1. Bahaha did you really say there’s no real crab meat in imitation crab? Hence the name IMITATION 🤦🏼‍♀️. Definition of imitation, not real, to imitate. So yes there’s no real crab meat in IMITATION CRAB …. SMH good God….🤦🏼‍♀️

  2. I always assumed it was shark meat or something. Idc, I don’t eat seafood anyway.

  3. I remember when this first came out and people went nuts for it including myself. It was so much cheaper and easier to eat than real crab. I’ll never forget two Asian ladies buying some in front of me in line at the grocery store and they were literally eating it and moaning because it was so good. I stopped eating it after I found out there was sugar in it. But I knew there was other stuff in it as well.

  4. Yes I knew there was no crab in imitation crab, since I know the definition of the word ‘imitation’

  5. I know It’s an imitation. I’ve tried it and It doesn’t taste right.

    1. 🤦‍♀️ There is crab in the imitation crab. Some brands use juice from crab meat and some contain 2% or less of crab. I am kosher and cannot eat those types of surimi crab. Occasionally and very rarely A brand will be crab free and it will have a Kosher logo. Don’t take my word for it, grab an imitation crab meat the next time you go to the grocery store and read the ingredients. It’s true that it does have crab and is not kosher.

  6. 1) Imitation is in the name.
    2) Not all brands are equal. If you find a “higher end” brand, say $6 as opposed to $3, you will find that the flake choice will have either king/blue/or snow crab, in whatever measurement. (Check Ingredients list).
    Lastly;
    Flake imitation, Butter, Garlic (powder and minced), Onion powder, a LITTLE bit of old bay and cayenne. Sauté in a pan, soft roll, green onion squeeze of lemon juice, poor man’s lobster rolls. Trust it.

  7. I know its imitation. But it gaves me allergic reaction like real crabs do..

  8. It’s the chicken nugget of the sea. Add mayo and maybe people won’t notice.

  10. I love real crab. But I love that imitation crab sticks as well yum. It makes good cold crab dip. I only like it when it’s cold
