Bacon-Braised Brussels Sprouts
RECIPE COURTESY OF TYLER FLORENCE
Level: Easy
Total: 50 minutes
Preparation: 20 min
Cook: 30 min
Yield: 4 servings
Components
1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, cleaned and cut in half
4 ounces (about 1/2 cup) bacon, cut into small squares
1 clove garlic, peeled and smashed, plus 2 cloves, approximately sliced
4 sprigs thyme, plus 2 sprigs thyme, leaves only, sliced
2 cups low-sodium chicken stock
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 cup panko bread crumbs
2 sprigs rosemary, leaves only, chopped
Extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Take a big pan and set over medium-high heat. Include bacon and cook up until fat renders 2 to 3 minutes. Add the smashed garlic clove, thyme sprigs and Brussels sprouts and cook gently till somewhat caramelized. Add stock and reduce heat to a simmer. Season with salt and a little pepper, cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes until tender. Get rid of lid and include a splash of vinegar and minimize up until syrupy, 2 to 3 minutes.
After Brussels sprouts are done cooking, put them in oven safe dish. In sheet tray and toss bread crumbs with rosemary, thyme leaves and sliced garlic, then drizzle with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. Sprinkle bread crumb mixture and Parmigiano over Brussels sprouts and bake in a hot oven until golden and crispy.

You have pre-made chicken stock and bacon, how much salt do you need????
It depends how much you want.
The chicken stock should be unsalted
Sir! Yes, Sir! 😋
Conceptually good, but too much breadcrumbs.

Breakfast Tomorrow @ 7:00 Pm Cereal & Waffle
These Brussels sprouts look delicious. I’m one of those weirdos who prefers raw veggies. I’ll make a salad with shaved Brussels sprouts and make the sauce as a dressing.
Looks fantastic & so easy. I’ll definitely be cooking this. I’ve never thought to serve a Bacon & Brussel Sprout combo b4. Thks.
The recipes I’ve seen lately seem destroy the health benefits & natural flavor of veggies.
Hi Tyler 👋
This dish is so yummy 😋 and looks like a good side dish for Christmas 🎄 roast beef and honey baked ham!!! Thanks 😊 love ❤ from Singapore 🇸🇬 💋❤
Looks delicious. Can I eliminate 95% of the bacon-fat and just use a little butter? The rice sounds good too. 💚
veggies are supposed to be healthy
##YumYumYumYum
I love Brussels sprouts. Anything is always better with bacon. So simple yet so yummy
This one is so old lol. I been making Tyler’s recipe and a hundred others for years. Lol. I wanna know if Tyler is still doing the food truck series. That show is a good one.
My mouth is watering…lol
