Sookha Moong | #MoongKiPathshala | Sanjeev Kapoor khazana

SOOKHA MOONG.

Ingredients.

2 1/2 cups cooked entire green gram (sabut moong).
2 tbsps oil.
1 inch cinnamon stick.
3-4 cloves.
1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
A pinch of asafoetida.
2-3 green chillies, slit.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
1 tablespoon coriander powder.
1 tsp cumin powder.
1/2 tsp red chilli powder.
10-15 curry leaves.
Salt to taste.
Fresh coriander sprig for garnish.

Method.

1. Heat oil in a nonstick kadai. Add cinnamon and cloves and sauté till fragrant.
2. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
3. Lower the heat, include turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and curry leaves and mix well.
4. Add prepared green gram, salt and mix gently. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes or till the green gram is heated completely.
5. Transfer in a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
