MOOGACHA KADHAN.
Active ingredients.
1 1/2 cups grew green gram (ankurit moong).
2 tbsps oil.
1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
A pinch of asafoetida (hing).
8-10 curry leaves.
1 tablespoon chopped garlic.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Salt to taste.
2-3 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves.
Method.
1. Heat a pressure cooker. Add grown green gram, salt and 2 cups water and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the pressure is launched as soon as. Open the cover once the pressure settles totally.
2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds and as soon as they start to splutter, include cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves and sautΓ© for a few seconds.
3. Add garlic and sautΓ© till golden brown.
4. Lower the heat, include turmeric powder and blend well.
5. Include prepared green gram, salt and 1 cup water and mix well. Cover and prepare for 4-5 minutes.
6. Add coriander and mix well.
7. Transfer in a serving bowl and serve hot.
