Pleasantly sweet and aromatic ripe jackfruit mixture packed in wontons and deep fried till golden and crisp. Dessert with a twist!
JACKFRUIT WONTONS
Ingredients
6-8 wonton sheets
1/2 cup scraped fresh coconut
1/2 cup finely chopped ripe jackfruit
1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
A pinch of nutmeg powder
1/4 cup chopped jaggery
2 tsps poppy seeds
Fine-tuned flour slurry for using
Oil for deep frying
Method
1. Heat a non-stick pan. Add coconut, ripe jackfruit, green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, jaggery, and 2 tbsps water and blend well. Cook till wetness is taken in.
2. Transfer the mixture in a plate and allow to cool. Add poppy seeds and blend till well integrated.
3. Stuff a wonton sheet with a part of the prepared jackfruit mixture and apply some refined flour slurry on the edges and shape it into a wonton.
4. Heat enough oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the wontons and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
5. Arrange on a serving plate and serve warm.
