The first meal I cooked for my husband, on our first date, was your oven baked salmon and potato avocado salad. That was 25 years ago.I still make the avocado salad because it works so well with fish. My now husband was so impressed, he thought he hit the jackpot! A girl who actually cooks! Well I guess he was right, haha. I’m pretty great.
Your cooking shows were like hanging with friends or being at a concert. You just wanted to join in. I think I have five books you wrote , and a book by Jools about pregnancy and life with little children I found very comforting. I made some of the recipes so many times I don’t have to open the books any more, I know them by heart. The tomatosoup from the first book which contained grilled chopped up bell peppers but I thought that were Spanish peppers. It was so blooming hot we almost choked. But we loved it and still make it the wrong way, haha
I was 20 and just started living on my own and had to learn to cook myself, and you have really helped me, for years. And you are still out there helping us rocking our own kitchens.
My now 19 year old son loves to cook, and some of his from the top of his head recipes are by your friend Gennaro. He has been making his Zabaglione and Chocolate pudding since he was ten.
