Aaj ke episode mein hum bana rahe hain Kerala-style 'Green Moong Thoran', which has plenty of protein, fiber and desi flavours. Is dish mein aap delight in kar sakte hain entire moong ki earthy goodness aur coconut ki natural sweet taste, jo milkar banaati hai isse ek wholesome delight.

GREEN MOONG THORAN.

Active ingredients.

2 cups prepared whole green gram (sabut moong).
3/4 cup scraped fresh coconut.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
1 inch ginger, roughly chopped.
2 green chillies, stemmed.
2 tbsps coconut oil.
1 tsp mustard seeds.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
10-15 shallots, sliced.
10-15 curry leaves.
Salt to taste.

Approach.

1. Take coconut in a grinder container. Include turmeric powder, ginger and green chillies and grind coarsely.
2. Heat coconut oil in a nonstick kadai. Include mustard seeds and when they start to splutter, add cumin seeds, shallots and sauté till translucent.
3. Add curry leaves, ground mix and mix well.
4. Add cooked green gram, salt and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes or till the mix is heated completely.
5. Transfer in a serving bowl and serve hot.

  2. For cherupayar thauran, in Kerala,we grind coconut,garlic,jeera,,turmeric,chilly powder & green chillies.
    Seasoning with mustard seeds,urad dal,red chillies & curry leaves.
