Focaccia Pizza | स्वादिष्ट फ़ोकासिया पिज़्ज़ा कैसे बनाते है | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

How about a soft and light pizza? This herby focaccia embedded with red and yellow cherry tomatoes and olives makes for a fantastic dinner option or option for party-time snacks.



2 cups improved flour (maida) + for cleaning
1/2 tsp immediate dry yeast
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup olive oil + for greasing + for sprinkling
Pizza sauce as required
5-6 yellow cherry tomatoes, halved
4-5 red cherry tomatoes, halved
4-5 pitted black olives
4-5 pitted green olives
150 grams mozzarella cheese
A couple of sprigs of fresh thyme
Fresh basil sprigs for garnish


1. Take fine-tuned flour in a large bowl. Include instantaneous dry yeast, salt, sugar and blend well.
2. Take 3/4 cup lukewarm water in a small bowl, include olive oil and whisk well. Transfer this into the flour mix and mix well. Knead till a soft dough is formed. Shape it into a ball. Grease a bowl with some olive oil, position the dough in it, cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to show for 40-45 minutes or till the dough doubles in size.
3. Knockback the dough and knead it lightly.
4. Dust the worktop with refined flour. Location the dough on it and roll it into a thick disc.
5. Grease an iron frying pan with some olive oil.
6. Place the dough in it. Cover with a moist muslin fabric and reserved to prove for 20 minutes.
7. Pre-heat the oven at 200ºC.
8. Make a few holes in the focaccia, use the pizza sauce, organize some yellow cherry tomatoes, red cherry tomatoes, black olives, green olives, spray salt, tear small pieces of mozzarella cheese and arrange on the focaccia. Include a couple of sprigs of thyme, drizzle olive oil, place it in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
9. Bring the focaccia pizza out of the oven and drizzle some olive oil. Garnish with fresh basil leaves. Cut into squares and serve.

  4. I’ve made focaccia with both all purpose flour and bread flour, and I’ve had better results with bread flour. Also, after the dough rises for about 30 minutes, it’s helpful to pull the dough out and fold it back onto itself; do this a few times to create layers every 30 minutes or so. It’ll trap more air inside and create a bubbly bread, which is fun to eat.

  5. The speciality of focaccia is the herbs that are added. I don’t see how this is different from a regular pizza base esp in flavour profile. I was disappointed watching this video.
