Bajra Khichdi | बाजरे की खिचड़ी बनाने का तरीका | #MilletKhazana | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Stay warm and healthy with this scrumptious and filling Bajra Khichdi.

BAJRE KI KHICHDI

Components

1 1/2 cups millet (bajra), drenched overnight
1/2 cup split skinless green gram (dhuli moong dal), soaked
2 tablespoons ghee
1 1/2 tsps cumin seeds
2-3 green chillies, chopped
7-8 curry leaves
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 large onion, sliced
1 big potato, cut into little cubes
1 small carrot, peeled and cut into little cubes
4-5 French beans, chopped
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsps red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup green peas
2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander leaves

Method

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and let the seeds alter colour. Include green chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and sauté for 30 seconds.
2. Include onion and sauté till translucent. Add potato, carrot, sauté well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Include French beans and sauté well for 1 minute.
3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well. Include bajra, moong dal, green peas, chopped coriander and blend well.
4. Include 8 cups of water and blend well. Cover and prepare till 5-6 whistles are released.
